Cool Junk We've Removed

  • Porcupine Fish

This is a taxidermy porcupine fish, likely a souvenir from a trip from across the world "down under" -- in Australia. Watch out for those spikes!

  • Moon Landing Newspaper

This is an original copy of the July 21st, 1969 issue of the Montreal Gazette, which covered the iconic moment when Apollo 11, carrying Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, landed on the moon.

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

  • Huge Vinyl Record Collection!

This is quite the music collection! Over 3000 vinyl records were uncovered in this removal, spanning decades of different musical genres and artists, from Elvis Presley to Gordon Lightfoot.

  • Old Fashioned Cash Register

This old-school cash register has some history to it, wouldn't you think? It appears to have been made in an era when these kind of machines were still a new development in the world of retail and resale.

  • Magazines from the 1940s

We're back with more cool junk! This recent find is stellar - they are magazines dating way back to the 1940s. These publications reflect an era where cigarette advertisements were in abundance and these magazines could be purchased for a mere 25 cents. Feel free to share with your friends, family, and colleagues!

  • Very old iron!

This old-style iron, while rusted and quite decayed, provides a glimpse into the elegant past of yesteryear when ironing slacks was an every day routine, much like churning butter and darning socks.

  • 1920s Cash Register

Fresh from the roaring '20s, this amazingly well-kept cash register -- made in Wisconsin nearly 90 years ago -- was found in a recent removal. Note the intricate designs in the metal. They don't make 'em like they used to!

  • Autographed Baseballs

These baseballs were recently found with the autographs of Toronto Blue Jays legends Kelly Gruber, Dave Stieb, and Ernie Whitt. Despite our best efforts, we could not find any special powers in these baseballs. Perhaps next time...

  • 1950s Salon Hairdryer

This exquisite piece of salon equipment brings back memories of the wondrous days of yesteryear. Framed in chrome, the Empress, by Helene Curtis, was one of the original high-powered hair dryers to be used in hair salons.

  • Exotic Weapons

Nunchucks. Machetes. Insane daggers of some sort. You would think that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just had a junk removal done! Alas, there were no mutant turtles to be found...ninja, teenage, or otherwise.

  • World's First Mass-Produced Typewriter

What an amazing find! This is the world's first mass-produced typewriter, manufactured in 1894 by the company known as Underwood Standard. Isn't it amazing that the letter placement still survives to this day, even on touch-screen devices?

  • Washing Board

This contraption was the predecessor to the washing machine as the standard way to wash clothes. It also made for great exercise!

  • Old Golf Clubs

Here are two antique golf clubs that we found recently. Made out of wood instead of the standard steel or graphite for today, these clubs are likely to be quite old. Fore!

  • Mark McGwire Rookie Card

This is a rare MLB rookie card. Mark McGwire, who broke the single-season home run record for a rookie in 1987 with 49 home runs, stands as one of the greats in MLB history. In 1998 he broke the home run record with 70, which would later be broken by Barry Bonds. After retirement, McGwire admitted to using steroids throughout his career.

  • 1914 License Plate

This Ontario license plate from 1914 is from the dawn of the auto industry. This was only 6 years after Henry Ford's "Model T" was produced!

  • 296-Year-Old Book

Published in 1714, this book, which is still in amazing condition, was written by Thomas Fuller M.D. and is titled "Pharmacopoeia Extemporanea" (this is the shortened title; the whole title could be a book itself). Interesting fact:  this book was initially written in Latin and was translated by the author into English.

  • 1960s Italian-Made Accordion

This beautiful instrument was hand crafted in Italy sometime during the 1960s. The keys are made of mother of pearl - clearly a lot of love went into this piece.

  • Book Published in 1928

We found this book, entitled "Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great Vol. 3", amid a removal we did recently. The book was authored by Elbert Hubbard (1856 - 1915), an accomplished writer, artist, and philosopher.

This volume portrays the biographies of certain American statesmen, including one George Washington.

  • Swords

We recently uncovered two old swords, complete with scabbards, while doing a removal. Despite their age, we still had to be careful - the edge of each blade was still sharp!

  • Before/After: Huge Pile of Concrete!

This extreme removal of concrete and construction rubble was intense, to say the least! The pile that you see in the photo roughly weighs 6,000 pounds. Our diligent JustJunk.com representative provided the best service possible - note the sweeping up afterward!
